Tennis Club

Shirley Park LTC was founded in 1914 and is situated in a wonderful setting about a mile from Central Croydon, on the north edge of Lloyd Park.

We are a friendly, inclusive and diverse club.  We welcome enquiries from prospective new members, be they experienced club players, social players, beginners or juniors.  Coaching for all levels is available.  We also have floodlight sessions in the Autumn/Winter at a nearby facility.

The Tennis Club has a total of 10 courts (2 grass, 2 acrylic and 6 all weather).  We offer an extensive tennis programme during the year including well organised club sessions, tournaments, etc.  We also hold various social events which prove to be great fun.

As part of the wider Sandilands Sports Club there is a large clubhouse offering changing facilities and a licensed bar.  Additionally, the Tennis Club has it’s own Summer House with kitchen facilities which are well maintained.

Addiscombe Hockey Club

Addiscombe HC is a thriving family club with over 200 members playing in 6 adults teams and around 10 junior teams. We’re the largest provider of junior hockey in the London Borough of Croydon and are always looking for new members to join us.

We run 4 men’s teams and 2 ladies teams, with our Men’s 1st XI and Ladies 1st XI playing competitive hockey in Surrey. Our other teams offer good progression for those wanting to develop, as well as more social hockey.

Off the pitch, we have a strong, fun and friendly social scene which helps generate a club spirit that is uniquely warm and friendly.

Striders of Croydon

Clubs - Striders

Striders are a running club based at Sandilands.  We run from the clubhouse on Wednesday evenings, Sundays mornings, and Friday evenings.  Off road through the local woods and parks as much as we can, and on road in winter.  There are a number of different pace groups to suit all abilities.   If you can keep jogging at a very steady pace for 40 minutes you will be fine.  If you are a complete beginner we can advise you of beginner’s groups.  We also arrange speed training sessions and swimming at Trinity during the week.

We also organise and host the Croydon Half Marathon in March/April every year.

If you want to know more about Striders or our contact details please visit our website.

Croydon Male Voice Choir

The Croydon Male Voice Choir has been singing for almost 50 years. It was founded as the David Neal Gentleman Singers, had around 15 members and rehearsed at the Croydon Co-op. It has since expanded to its present size, with some 65 members, a diverse repertoire and a reputation as one of the most dynamic choirs in southern England.

The choir sings at venues in and around Croydon, raising money for a range of charities such as the Demelza Children’s Hospice, Hope and Homes for Children, and Help for Heroes. It has performed at the Royal Festival Hall and its members have sung at Remembrance Day commemorations at the Royal Albert Hall.

The choir has just acquired a brilliant new music director, Matthew Quinn, and an equally talented pianist, Sam Prouse. It is a friendly and enthusiastic choir and always welcomes new members. It has a strong social element, singing regularly in Croydon pubs on Friday evenings and conducting local walks every few weeks. For contact details and how to find us please visit our website
